 THE THIRD   DAY

AS always we start with

Luk 24:44  And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

Luk 24:45  Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the Scriptures, (KJV)

Why was it at this particular point, then, that Yeshua chose to open their understanding???

Because it is at this point, then, that He has brought them face to face with their unbelief!!

All this occurs on ycylc !wy the third day

Could these third day experiences that Abraham, Isaac and Ya’akov had, be about seeds and planting and especially what kind of seed is coming to fruition on these third day experiences?

In the Fathers of our faith, these third day experiences marked a major turning point in their lives!!!

Remember who gets to experience the biggest and mostest of all third day experiences?????  Study Hosea ch6!!!!!

Entering the final three and one half years will definitely be a major turning point in our lives.

What will come to fruition in us during that time???

What are we planting/sowing NOW????

Lets glean a bit more from our father Ya’akov…

·        Remember the name change

·        Remember the miracles to this point

·        Miraculious travel from Haran to Gilead

·        Miraculious deliverance from Laban and his men

·        Miraculious encounter with the armed host of YHWH God (he is impinged by the very host of God)

Up to this point Ya’akov is not running scared as we have been led to believe.

In Ya’akov’s message to Esau we learn many lessons about Ya’akov and his sojourning in Haran.

How did he acquire those bondservants that were with him? He paid a debt for them that he did not owe. Ya’akov also presents himself to Esau as his bondservant.

Gen 32:5  And I have(yhyw  hayah) oxen, and asses, flocks, and menservants(db[ eh-bed)  and womenservants: and I have sent to tell my lord, that I may find(axm  maw-tsaw') grace in thy sight.

yhyw  hayah

BDB Definition:

1) become, come to pass, happen

db[ eh-bed  bondman, [bond-] servant, (man-) servant.

axm  maw-tsaw'  A primitive root; properly to come forth to

@j  khane From H2603; graciousness

H2603 @nj khaw-nan' A primitive root; properly to bend or stoop in kindness to an inferior

Ya’akov has been in Haran being a conduit of YHWH Gods blessing, now he is back in the land wants to be the firstborn conduit of blessing to Esau.

What is Esau’s reaction ????   (Affliction)

Ya’akov now becomes fearful but not for himself.

Gen 32:11  Deliver me, I pray thee, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau: for I fear him, lest he will come and smite me, and the mother(!a ame) with the children.

!a ame  A primitive word, a mother

What is Ya’akov’s response to Esau’s intentions???

First he prays and acknowledges YHWH Gods goodness in the face of adversity!!!!

These actions do not come forth from having sown the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, do they???

Then he presents a Mincah!!!!

Gen 32:13  And he lodged there that same night; and took of that which came to his hand a present(hjnm min-cah) for Esau his brother;

hjnm min-cah

Lev 2:1  And when any will offer a meat/grain offering (mincah)unto the LORD, his offering shall be of fine flour; and he shall pour oil upon it, and put frankincense thereon:

Lev 2:2  And he shall bring it to Aaron's sons the priests: and he shall take therefrom his handful of the flour thereof, and of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof; and the priest shall burn the memorial of it, the reminder portion, upon the altar, to be an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor unto the LORD:

Was Ya’akov attempting to remind Esau of something???

At what point had Ya’akov and Esau both learned about the mincah????

Lets look at his Mincah

Gen 32:14  Two hundred she goats, and twenty he goats, two hundred ewes, and twenty rams,

Gen 32:15  Thirty milch camels with their colts, forty kine, and ten bulls, twenty she asses, and ten foals.

That’s 580 critters in 9 droves

Gen 32:16  And he delivered5414 them into the hand3027 of his servants,5650 every drove5739, 5739 by themselves;905 and said559 unto413 his servants,5650 Pass over5674 before6440 me, and put7760 a space7305 between996 drove5739 and drove.5739

H5739   rd[ ay-der  arrangement

To understand the arrangement, we must first understand how Ya’akov counted, (three guesses and the first two don’t count)

·        He had a copy of Bondservant Fellowships handy dandy hand out with the Hebrew letters and their cardinal number values and number meanings

·        Ya’akov had a copy of E.W. Bullinger’s “Numbers in Scripture” and was really was up on what the book had to say. Besides all that if he had any questions he could go to WildBranch Ministry’s web site.

He had no Arabic numbers!!!!  Who else counted the same way?? (Esau)

Ya’akov and Esau both  knew number significance and word picture associated with the letters of the Hebrew alphabet both men…they had been instructed by grandfather Abraham, and father Isaac at the school of Shem!!!

Lets see what Ya’akov might be trying to remind brother Esau about.

Remember when Esau comes with 400 men he aims to do harm, when he actually meets Ya’akov he weeps.

Who sees a picture here?

What is the gematria of the total number of critters, 580?

What is the significance of the number of the droves?

Ya’akov is asking Esau many questions, but most importantly “Esau, what kind of seed are you sowing????

Lust of the flesh

Lust of the eyes

Pride of Life

What foundational principle is laid down for us in this Torah example that the brit chadassah, N.T. has lots of commentary on????

Rom 12:21  Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

1Th 5:15  See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

1Pe 3:9  Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

How many among us think that Torah has been done away with????
