 THE THIRD   DAY

AS always we start with

Luk 24:44  And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

Luk 24:45  Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the Scriptures, (KJV)

Why was it at this particular point, then, that Yeshua chose to open their understanding???

Because it is at this point, then, that He has brought them face to face with their unbelief!!

All this occurs on ycylc !wy the third day

Hmm, could the third day be about seeds and planting and especially what kind of seed is coming to fruition on these third day experiences??)

With this thought in mind lets quickly review two important points we have learned so far in our study of the third day.

First, knowing that the third day is about seeds and planting, what is the seed we should concern ourselves with seeing that there are many varieties of seed???

 Gen 18:17  And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;

Gen 18:18  Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?

Gen 18:19  For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after

him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.

Please don’t think Abraham had no written record

Exo 24:3  And Moses came and told the people all the words of the LORD, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which the LORD hath said will we do.

Psa 119:9  Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.

Psa 119:10  With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.

Psa 119:11  Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Psa 119:12  Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.

Psa 119:13  With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.

Psa 119:14  I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.

Psa 119:15  I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.

Psa 119:16  I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.

Luk 8:10  And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

Luk 8:11  Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

Hmm how much time and space do we choose to provide for the precious seed

In our study of the phrase “on the third day” we are going to definitely see that seed is about to come to fruition, what kind will the fruit be?

Remember the disciples experience , on the third day, because of human reasoning, the pride of life, unbelief occurs, bad seed comes to fruition)

Guess who controls what kind of fruit comes forth????

 WE DO!!!!

All of the Patriarchs of our faith, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob had Third Day experiences!!

Guess who gets to experience the biggest and most of all Third Day experiences!!!

 WE DO!!!!!!

(Carefully check out Hosea ch.6)

Is it possibly going to be the redemption of the last generation?

These scriptures about the third day are written aforetime for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.

What kind of fruit will come forth from us when we face our Third day experience???

Secondly numbers in scripture are extremely important!!!

In fact numbers are important in everything, they show design, intent, a definite plan, law, and a Lawgiver.

Lets look at some numbers in physiology and nature showing design, intent, law and a Lawgiver.

For example the number seven and the gestation period of certain animals:

The mouse is 21 (3x7) days.

The rabbit is, 28 (4x7) days.
The cat, 56 (8x7) days.
The dog, 63 (9x7) days.
The lion, 98 (14x7) days.
The sheep, 147 (21x7) days.

With BIRDS, the gestation of—

The common hen is 21 (3x7) days.
The duck, 42 (6x7) days.

With the Human species it is 280 days (or 40x7).

Even more amazing is the seven feasts of the LORD typified by the stages of development of a human child!!!

We could go on and on with the number seven!!!

Lets take a quick look at the number three in the natural realm and look for design and intent in the Bee

In the case of the BEE, it is the number three which pervades its phenomena—

Is this design? Are these phenomena of three just chance?

Why should it be the number three instead of any other number

Can we begin to see the numbers involved show the signature of the ONE who designed/created/maintains these phenomenon in the natural realm????

If you would like to further study numbers especially in scripture check out E.W. Bullinger’s work “Numbers in Scripture” at www.philogos.org/_eb-nis/default.htm

How much more should we be alert for the numbers we encounter in scripture!!!!

So our two points under review were numbers and seeds significance.

Hmmm, could the third day be about seeds and planting and especially what kind of seed is coming to fruition on these third day experiences??

On the third day, not the second day, not the fourth day, we are going to see seed come to fruition either good or bad!!!

Our first example!!!!!!!

Gen 22:4  Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.

It goes without saying that this account is a shadow and type of Yeshua….it occurs in the land of Moriah…..as the wood for Isaac’s sacrifice was bound upon him, so Yeshua bore the wood He was to be sacrificed on…we by no means are trying to detract from the types and shadows.

How old is Abraham in this account??

How old is Isaac in this account??

Lets get a grip on Isaac’s heart during this Third Day happening

Gen 22:6  And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.

Gen 22:7  And Isaac spoke unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

Why does Isaac ask this Question???

He knows very well the elements involved in an Olah offering

Back to Abraham

Gen 22:2  And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering(olah) upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

What if the seed that was coming to fruition in Abraham’s life was the lust of the flesh??

What might His response have been?

It’s too fur and snakey and I don’t got enough vittels to last that long Lord, besides I don’t know where the place is at yet.

Even though an old man he did not consider it an inconvenience, we see him anxious and willing to obey at an advanced age, and he does not know all the details yet!!!

(how old, probably 130 yrs old)

What if the seed that was coming to fruition in Abraham’s life was the lust of the eyes??

What might His response have been?

Land sakes Lord, if the Jones see me leaving out like that they might think I’m crazy, why they’d say I’m a dody old man.

Because Abraham has been sowing the right kind of seed previously in his life, and not doing things just to be seen or get noticed or to WOW people, at this advanced age his servants and Isaac his son are willing to follow to an uncertain destination!!!

(yikes, this seed stuff is getting heavy)

What if the seed that was coming to fruition in Abraham’s life was the pride of life??

(human reasoning, Sihon king of the Amorites)

What might His response have been?

Now Lord you know that I have been in the school of Shem for a long time and nobody ain’t never offered a humankind for an olah offering, now I don’t hardly think you really want me to take Isaac to Moriah do you besides if I kill him how will he be the heir of promise, dead men don’t have children Lord!!

This kind of unbelief would match up to the unbelief of Yeshuah’s day when it was said “search the scriptures and see that no prophet arises out of Galilee”

Abraham did not allow any of the BIG THREE

(1)the desires of the old nature,(2) the desires of the eyes,(3) and the pretensions of life, lead him into an evil heart of unbelief!!!

Rom 4:20  He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

Rom 4:21  And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform

Why did Abraham not stagger, because he had chosen the precious seed, his choice was not the seed of the world, the BIG THREE, that would have led him into an evil heart of unbelief!!!

In closing let us give ourselves consciously, willingly, deliberately, knowingly, making whatever sacrifices necessary to the study of the Tanak and the Brit Chadassah.

We will have made a good choice!!!

Next week Jacob’s and Josephs THIRD DAY experience.
