 THE THIRD   DAY

AS always we start with :

Luk 24:44  And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

Luk 24:45  Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the Scriptures, (KJV)

Why was it at this particular point, then, that Yeshua chose to open their understanding???

When the Disciples came face to face with their own unbelief and human reasoning, then He opened their understanding.  But why cover this in a study on the third day?

Remember what the third day is about from the study of Beresheit Ch. 1?  Seeds and planting!!!!!!!

Joh 12:20  And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast:

Joh 12:21  The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.

Joh 12:22  Philip cometh and telleth Andrew: and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus.

Joh 12:23  And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.

Joh 12:24  Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

What is Yeshua talking about here?  Seeds and planting!!!!

First and primarily He was referring to Himself!  He would be planted as a seed into the earth and arise the third day!!!  As we will see, three is the number of the resurrection!!!!

Secondly He was referring to us, beckoning us to die to self and unbelief, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, that we might arise above self and bring forth much fruit.

Luk 8:10  And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

Luk 8:11  Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

Hmmm, what is the third day about?  What is it that brings forth fruit?  Seed of course.  What seed had we best be sowing???

How about great activities at Bondservant Fellowship?  How about great food at Bondservant Fellowship?  How about great Liturgy and Responsive Reading at Bondservant Fellowship?  How about worshipful dance at Bondservant Fellowship?

Only the Word of God, all of it, not just part of it is what YHWH God expects us to sow!

What happens when you begin to humanly reason that maybe this part or that part no longer applies?  You just mutilated the seed!!!!

We sure are talking about seed a lot!

The good soil that brings forth much fruit is the believing heart, not the evil unbelieving heart, that understands the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life within himself and knows how to deal with it!!!!

Heb 5:14  But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

As we study the third day, and as we begin to see the meanings both obvious, Pashat level, and hidden, Remez and Sod levels, let us not be unbelieving but believing!!!!!

With all that said …let’s look at the number three.

PSA.18:30 As for God His WAY is perfect

PSA:19:7  The Law of the LORD is perfect

In what way is God and His way, His Word (seed), His law (Torah) perfect?

 ·        Perfect in power

 ·        Perfect in holiness and righteousness,

 ·        Perfect in design, perfect in execution,

 ·        Perfect in their object and end

 ·        Perfect in number
