Mat
23:23 Woe
unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise
and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law,
judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the
other undone.
(KJV)
Mat
23:23 Oy
to you, Sofrim and Perushim, tzevuim, for you give maasros (tithe) of mint and
dill and cumin, and you have neglected the matters of the Torah of
greater consequence: mishpat, chesed, and emunah. These things
it was necessary to do and those [others] not to neglect.
(OJB)

How many folk can you name that would start a bible study on
faith or mercy or grace
or any other supossed New
Testament only concept and even consider going to Beresheit or
Shemot or Vayikra????
Yet we see the creator of the universe, Yeshua, plainly
telling us that the Torah is
teaching about the very truths that most of our new covenant
brethren consider to be NewTestament only!!!!
But wait, there’s more!!!!
Joh
5:46 For
had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.
Joh 5:47
But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
Yeshua is here speaking to the same religious
caliber of people he was speaking to in Mat.23:23, in both cases their
faith was directed toward someone other than YHWH God!!!
How can we say that?
Because this is YHWH God speaking to them!!!!
Can we all agree that these religious folk that Yeshua is addressing in
these verses are exercising faith? Absolutely
we can, they are having a heated exchange of words!!!!
Every man believes, has faith in,
something; but
by far and large that something usually winds up being self, or something self
has concocted!!
Yeshua’s very explicit warning……..
If we neglect, disregard, and especially throw
out Moses’s teaching about mercy
or faith or grace or discernment or
any other supposed new testament only concept,
we will wind up not believing Him!!! (an evil heart of unbelief)
We
will ultimately wind up believing self or something self has concocted and will
ultimately depart from the living God through unbelief!!!
Whoaaa Nelly, what did Moshe have to say about
this here subject of grace?!?!?!?!
Yeshua’s warning to religious folk
one more time…..
Joh
5:46 For
had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.
Joh 5:47
But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
Yeshua is the very embodiment of GRACE,
our subject of study, so how much more do we need to she’ma,
hear and obey Yeshua’s admonition????
Lets look at the term in the Brit Chadassah:

with God.
Luk

of God was upon him.

Lets look first at (χάρις
charis) in the BritChadassah.

1:5 By
whom we have received grace (χάρις charis)and
apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name; (KJV)
Rom
1:5 through
whom we have received grace and apostleship to
bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles, for

then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that
ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
2Co 8:9
For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich,
yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be
rich.
2Co 9:8
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye,
always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every
good work:
2Co
12:9 And
he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is
made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather
glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Eph 2:8
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it
is the gift of God:
Col 1:6
Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and
bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the
day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth
2Th 1:12
That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in
you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
2Ti 1:9
Who hath saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not
according to our works, but according to his own purpose and
grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
Heb
2:9 But
we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of
death, crowned with glory and honor; that he by the grace of God
should taste death for every man.
Heb 12:15
Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God;
lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be
defiled;
Heb
12:28 Wherefore
we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve
God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
1Pe 1:13
Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end
for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of
Jesus Christ;
1Pe 2:19
For this is thankworthy(χάρις charis),
if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.
1Pe 2:20
For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your
faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for
it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable (χάρις
charis)
with God.
1Pe 5:5
Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of
you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God
resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
Jud
1:4 For
there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this
condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness,
and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Lasciviousness….looseness, wantonness
Lustfulness
Do these verses describe idea of grace put forth by our
brethren in the new covenant church? How
much more could we say at this point to make us realize that what Moshe’ had
to say about grace probably wont line up too closely with the typical
Televangelist has to say about GRACE!!!!
