Vayikra (leviticus) ch:1
We have so far seen that rebellion is a temptation to all
of us, we all have the propensity to rebel……….
So
far in our study of drawing near through the Olah we have taken a close look at
idolatry……..
In
the following verse who or what is the idol
that
these religious leaders are seeking to draw near to???
Joh
5:44 How
can ye believe, which receive honor one of another, and seek not the
honor that cometh from God only?
Is
it not SELF
We
have also seen that idolatry comes from within ourselves and that idolatry
ultimately leads to rebellion……
We have also begun to see that idolatry is alive and well in
the computer age and that it is the most subtle and dangerous sin……..

yis-raw-ale' From H8280 and H410
H8280 hrf
saw-raw' A
primitive root; to prevail
More specifically we are to be the Almighty’s
overcomers.
We
also examined these amazing words
1Jo
2:13 I
write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from
the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome
(prevailed) the
wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father.
How
could Yochannan (john) the beloved apostle write with such confidence to his
taught ones that they had such a commanding grip on prevailing that they already
had overcome the Wicked One???…..
Could it be that
hidden in the different Korban procedures for drawing near, the Olah,
the Mincah, the Chatat,
the Zevach Shelamim, the Asham,
lie the object lessons and shadow pictures we need to see in order to be prevailers
and thereby be true children of Israel???…….
A quick word about perceptions
At this juncture in our study on drawing near, taken from the
first chapter of Vayikra (leviticus) we come to the specifics of the Olah Korban
which in most western translations is rendered burnt
offering. The connotation in our western minds associated with the term burnt
offering is totally backwards and opposite of what YHWH God
desires for us to perceive
from the study of the sacrifices………
The connotation in most western minds about a burnt
offering is that of watching an animal go through the throes of dying in
order to appease an angry God and then burn the pieces on the altar……..
In
fact many well intentioned religious folk use the following passages to boldly
assert that God realized that the sacrifices were a mistake and that grace
was a better idea!!
Isa
1:11 To
what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me?
saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings (Olah hl[) of rams, and the fat
of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he
goats.
Isa
1:12 When
ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my
courts?
Isa
1:13 Bring
no more vain oblations (Mincah hxnm);
incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of
assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn
meeting.
Isa
1:14 Your
new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a
trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them.
Jer
7:22 For
I spoke not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them
out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings (Olah
hl[) or sacrifices:
There
are other verses as well that the unstable and unlearned could wrest (2Pet.
3:16) and using those verses (out of context, of course) to convince folk that
the entire Torah is a mistake and has been terminated!!……

Act
21:26 Then
Paul took the men, and the next day purifying himself with them entered into the
temple, to signify the accomplishment of the days of purification, until that an
offering should be offered for every one of them.
Act
21:27 And
when the seven days were almost ended………
According
to Num. Ch 6 the following was to take place
On
day seven they were to shave off their hair
On
day eight an Olah, a Chatat, and an Ashsam were to be presented
Can
we begin to see that the Brit Chadassah (new testament) with crushing clarity
instructs us that Torah is alive and well!!!!
Lets
look at the Olahs hl[ that
were commanded us by Moshe and count them to see if we can
get beyond the shallow understanding that most westerners carry around
with them!!!…….
Note:
some years have 13 months and more than 360 days, thereby we know that
using our 360 day model in the following count, our total number of Olahs in a
years time is very conservative…….
Exo
29:38 Now
this is that which thou shalt offer upon the altar; two lambs of
the first year day by day continually.
Exo
29:39 The
one lamb thou shalt offer in the morning; and the other lamb
thou shalt offer at even:
Exo
29:42 This
shall be a continual burnt offering (Olah

generations at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the
LORD: where I will meet you, to speak there unto thee.

Do
you possibly, remotely, just a tiny bit think that YHWH God
is trying to tell us there is something extremely important that we need to see
in the Olah Korban???
Why
in the world did He say in Jer.7:22
that
He had not spoken to the fathers about the Olah????
The
real reason YHWH God has given us all these explicit instructions about the Olah
(hl[), the Mincah (hxnm), the Zevach Shelamim (~ymlv xbz), the Chatat (hajx tajx),
the Asham (~va) is that we would have both a vivid as
well as a very dynamic object lesson about drawing near.
(i.e. see our rebellion and idolatry and
understand our deep deep need)
In Jer.7:22, the people of that day, as well as
the people of our day, had no clue that there was a very important object
lesson, shadow picture, hidden revelation, remez level of understanding,
whatever youdesire to call it, about drawing near to Him in the different
Korban!!!!
Once an object lesson is learned, YHWH God
expects us to start walking in the light of that object lesson
(remember the myth we all learned
in church which said “they had to do those sacrifices in order to be
saved”.)
The
sacrifices are going to return in the mellinial kingdom, why?
Zec
14:21 Yea,
every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the LORD of hosts:
and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and
in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of
the LORD of hosts.
The
sacrifices will return (they actually have never gone away) so that the whole
world can see that yes this was and is the best object lesson to help rebellious, selfishly
idolatorious, and very weak mankind
understand drawing near!!

for the Messiah's sake it has been granted to you not only to
trust in him but also to suffer on his behalf,
Hopefully at this juncture we can begin to see
the necessity of dying to self in order to draw near and prevail
………..
