THE ANNAPOLIS TRAGEDY

*** Next week, the key players of “the road map for peace” will meet in Annapolis, Maryland to try to finally create a “Palestinian state”, surrendering more Israeli territory—and control of the Temple Mount. The "road map" for peace is a plan to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict proposed by a "quartet" of international entities: the United States, the European Union, Russia, and the United Nations. The principles of the plan were first outlined by U.S. President George W. Bush in a speech on June 24, 2002, in which he called for an independent Palestinian state living side by side with Israel in peace.

*** The Palestinian Authority has agreed to dismantle terrorist infrastructure….but this was supposed to have been “Phase 1”, several years ago!!! Statehood is “Phase 3”. [Everything looks in reverse.]

*** Recently, Ehud Barak stated, “Israel is prepared to go very far at the Annapolis conference.”

· Yasser Arafat always made it clear (to anyone who was really listening) that any agreements or treaties they signed were really “hudnah”—meaning just a temporary cessation from hostilities for refreshing and regrouping so as to pick up later on a better footing. Despite the more moderate Abbas’ approach or intent, the ruling Hamas party—whom the Palestinians democratically elected—carries on the same exact approach as Arafat.

*** The rebirth and continued survival of modern Israel are due to tremendous miracles of YHWH:

· 1967—This surprise attack should have brought on many weeks of intense Israeli casualties. Instead, in only six days the Israelis came out in control of most of Biblical Israel.

· 1973—This sneak attack on Yom Kippur was so bad that after a few days Gen. Moshe Dayan told P.M. Golda Meir, “Arm the doomsday weapons, the Third Temple is about to fall!” [This was known as “the Sampson Option”.] But many were calling on the God of Israel for help, and all sorts of incredible, miraculous circumstances and events occurred. In a few days then, the Israelis had totally overrun their invaders.

· Summer, 2006—the Israelis were not able to squash what should have been a minor insurrection by Hezbollah in Lebanon.

*** HAS SOMETHING CHANGED???

Gen 15:18 On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, "To your descendants I have given this land, From the river of Egypt as far as the great river, the river Euphrates:

Gen 17:7 "I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you.

Gen 17:8 "I will give to you and to your descendants after you, the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God."

Gal 3:29 And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's descendants, heirs according to promise.

*** Thus….it the the LAND that is our everlasting possession, along with everlasting life! [So, is it a big mystery why haSatan wants to take it and eradicate the name it has on it?] But this is no new thing:

Jdg 1:20 Then they gave Hebron to Caleb, as Moses had promised; and he drove out from there the three sons of Anak.

Jdg 1:21 But the sons of Benjamin did not drive out the Jebusites who lived in Jerusalem; so the Jebusites have lived with the sons of Benjamin in Jerusalem to this day.

Jdg 1:28 It came about when Israel became strong, that they put the Canaanites to forced labor, but they did not drive them out completely.

Jdg 1:34 Then the Amorites forced the sons of Dan into the hill country, for they did not allow them to come down to the valley;

Jdg 1:35 yet the Amorites persisted in living in Mount Heres, in Aijalon and in Shaalbim; but when the power of the house of Joseph grew strong, they became forced labor.

Jdg 2:1 Now the angel of the LORD came up from Gilgal to Bochim. And he said, "I brought you up out of Egypt and led you into the land which I have sworn to your fathers; and I said, 'I will never break My covenant with you,

Jdg 2:2 and as for you, you shall make no covenant with the inhabitants of this land; you shall tear down their altars.' [Like Al Aqsa mosque?] But you have not obeyed Me; what is this you have done?

Jdg 2:3 "Therefore I also said, 'I will not drive them out before you; but they will become as thorns in your sides and their gods will be a snare to you.'"

*** The goal of the Quartet at Annapolis is to crush Israel from every side and take back everything they gained in 1967:

Eze 36:2 'Thus says the Lord GOD, "Because the enemy has spoken against you, 'Aha!' and, 'The everlasting heights have become our possession,'

Eze 36:3 therefore prophesy and say, 'Thus says the Lord GOD, "For good reason they have made you desolate and crushed you from every side, that you would become a possession of the rest of the nations and you have been taken up in the talk and the whispering of the people."'"

Eze 36:8 'But you, O mountains of Israel, you will put forth your branches and bear your fruit for My people Israel; for they will soon come.

*** Is this not saying that at the time the enemies are gloating over their apparent success, the Greater Exodus—the rejoining of the two houses—is imminent?

Zec 13:8 "It will come about in all the land [haEretz—the earth; world]," Declares the LORD, "That two parts in it will be cut off and perish; But the third will be left in it.

Zec 13:9 "And I will bring the third part through the fire, Refine them as silver is refined, And test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, And I will answer them; I will say, 'They are My people,' And they will say, 'The LORD is my God.'"

*** The little book of Obadiah shows that the worst elements of the enemies of God will be totally eradicated from the face of the earth:

Oba 1:9 "Then your mighty men will be dismayed, O Teman, So that everyone may be cut off from the mountain of Esau by slaughter.

Oba 1:10 "Because of violence to your brother Jacob, You will be covered with shame, And you will be cut off forever.

*** Thus, at the time when things look so bleek, we who have knowledge and understanding should look up and take hope, discerning the “SIGNS OF THE TIMES” [Mat. 16:3].

*** The Bible many times speaks of signs of various sorts, including “signs in the heavens”.

Gen 1:14 Then God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years;

· Here, in the first instance, “signs” are mentioned ahead of seasons, days, and years. Could there be signs in some of the things we are right now beholding?

· Annapolis is Greek form for “City of Hannah”. It was named after the Protestant Queen Anne of England, but Anne is one of the forms of the Hebrew Hannah [hnx = “Grace”].

· “She was destined to not always be barren, but would have life contained within her, coming forth to be Samuel (who pronounced or performed the judgment of God more than once).

*** However….what about in the context of the city of Annapolis? The Hebrew form would be Hanna-ayar:

*** Word picture: “When the enemy think they have finally fenced in the People of God for the kill, then His judgment will be revealed.”

* Also…this date on our [corrected] calendar is Chesvan 17—the date the Flood began.

· A month ago, just before Sukkot, a comet visible only in powerful telescopes explored to 500,000 times its former brightness so that it is now visible to the naked eye!

· It flared up under the sword-wielding arm of the constellation Perseus—the king of Persia [now called Iran].

*** Word picture: “Yeshua the Messiah says, ‘I am about to lead you out of the chaos of this twisted, perverted mess!’”

*** How do we survive? We put our belief and trust in Him who bore our iniquities:

Isa 53:11 As a result of the anguish of His soul, He will see it and be satisfied; By His knowledge the Righteous One, My Servant, will justify the many, As He will bear their iniquities.

*** Our Savior/Yeshua will also extend atonement to any of the goyim—Gentiles; nations:

Isa 49:6 He says, "It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant To raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also make You a light of the nations So that My salvation [YESHUA] may reach to the end of the earth."
