The New Age
Movement: Paving The Way For The
Antichrist
Here
are some more statements by Neale, that “God” supposedly told him:
à
“There are a thousand paths to God, and every one gets you there.”
Of
course, we know that the true God, Yahweh, says:
à
Acts 4:12 "And there is
salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been
given among men by which we must be saved." (Referring to the name Yeshua,
of course)
Neale
says that “God“ told him: à
“You are, quite literally, the Word of God, made flesh.”
But we
know that the true word of God, the Torah, including that little word
“aleph-tav” was made flesh and was manifest as Yeshua:
à
John 1:14-15 And the Word became flesh,
and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the
Father, full of grace and truth.
But think
of how deceiving that could be! People
who go to church, but don’t read their bibles, have probably heard the phrase
“word of God made flesh”… and when they hear this they recognize it as
being from the Bible, so they believe it! It
must be “Christian”… it must be OK!
Another
statement from Neale‘s “God“: à
“You must realize that “atonement” is just that — it is
“at-one-ment.” It is the awareness that you and all others are One. It is
the understanding that you are One with everything — including Me.”
Here is
that concept of oneness (immanence) again.
But look at the word that is used: “atonement”.
Except he explains that “atonement” means “AT-ONE-MENT”.
How often have you heard that in the church? I’ve heard it MANY times… that atonement means you are
AT-ONE with God. Again, here is a
familiar term that many in church have heard over and over again.
Will people be deceived? Absolutely.
Neale fails to mention that the only way to attain the “AT-ONE-MENT”
is to accept the atoning death of Yeshua. He
fails to properly define “atonement”. He says it means becoming aware that we are one, including
one with God. He fails to explain
that atonement means covering and paying for our sins, that only Yeshua can do
for us. He also fails to mention
that we need atonement because we are all sinners.
In fact, he claims that his “God” says quite the opposite:

“In truth, there is no such thing as a “sinner,” for no one can be
sinned against — least of all Me.”
So
Neale’s concept of atonement is that we are all ALREADY one with God, we just
have to come to that realization. There
is no sin, and no savior. Of course
we know that the true God, Yahweh, states:
à
Rom 3:23-24 for all have sinned and
fall short of the glory of God, (24)
being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in
Christ Jesus.
So what
characteristics of antichrist do we see in Neale Donald Walsch?

- Deceptive speech
à
- Against Yahweh’s covenant
à
- Exalts himself as “a” god, believing that he is the word of
“God” made flesh
à
- Does not confess that Yeshua came in the flesh
Is he a
good tree bearing good fruit, or a bad tree bearing bad fruit?
You will see from his website that he performs good works, including
outreach and prison ministries. But
what he is speaking and declaring gives him away… he is bearing BAD FRUIT, and
therefore a false prophet!
Helen
Schucman and “A Course In Miracles”
In 1965
Helen Schucman, a professor of Medical Psychology, heard an inner voice stating à
“this is a course in miracles, please take notes”.
She resisted, but the inner voice, à
identifying itself as “Jesus”, told her that since the world
situation was deteriorating, he was asking people all over the world to help.
Her part was to take down the “Course In Miracles”.
à
With the help of Dr. William Thetford, Helen spent 7 ½ years taking down
the dictation, and the result is a course with à
365 lessons designed to
be studied one lesson per day. This
“Jesus” taught a completely different gospel than the one in the bible.
à
Each lesson of the course is a short teaching, usually with an idea or
phrase to be meditated upon during the day.
à The process is
all too similar to Transcendental Meditation which uses a mantra as a repetition
word to guide you into inner peace. The
“Course In Miracles”, in my opinion, is nothing more than a course in
brainwashing. The first lesson is a
good example:
“Now
look slowly around you, and practice applying this idea very specifically to
whatever you see:
This table does not mean anything.
This
chair does not mean anything.
This
hand does not mean anything.
This
foot does not mean anything.
This
pen does not mean anything.
Then look farther away from your immediate area, and apply the idea to a wider
range:
That door does not mean anything.
This
body does not mean anything.
This
lamp does not mean anything.
This
sign does not mean anything.
This
shadow does not mean anything.
Notice that these statements are not arranged in any order, and make no
allowance for differences in the kinds of things to which they are applied. That
is the purpose of the exercise. The statement should merely be applied to
anything you see. As you practice the idea for the day, use it totally
indiscriminately. Do not attempt to apply it to everything you see, for these
exercises should not become ritualistic. Only be sure that nothing you see is
specifically excluded. One thing is like another as far as the application of
the idea is concerned.
Each of
the first three lessons should not be done more than twice a day each,
preferably morning and evening. Nor should they be attempted for more than a
minute or so, unless that entails a sense of hurry. A comfortable sense of
leisure is essential.”
The
“course” generally teaches that à
all is love, à
the opposite of love is fear, and that à
fear is simply an
illusion based on wrong thinking. à
God and Christ is in everyone and everything. à
Because God is sinless and in everyone and everything, then we are also
sinless. à
Our only “sin” is
not recognizing our own divine nature. Correcting
this thinking is referred to as à
“atonement” (at-one-ment), and happens when we realize that we are
not separate from God. à
When everyone finally comes to this state of “atonement”, there will
be world peace. Of course, with
this thinking, the “atonement” of the “course” has nothing to do with
Yeshua’s atoning sacrifice. We’ve
already seen what Neale Donald Walsch teaches about “atonement”, and this is
right in line with his assessment.
The
frightening thing about this belief is that it will appeal to many people who
want some kind of religion, or even relationship with God, but don’t want to
admit that they are sinners! How
attractive to people who don’t want to give up whatever particular sin they
are holding onto! Homosexuality for
instance.

In 1992 Oprah Winfrey featured Marianne Williamson on her show.
à
Marianne wrote “A Return To Love:
Reflections On The Principles Of A Course In Miracles”.
Oprah enthusiastically praised and endorsed Williamson’s book. It
shot to the top of the bestseller list. Suddenly the “course’s” “Jesus” and his “new
gospel” were introduced into millions of American homes.
Williamson continues to praise the “course”, and à
along with Neale Donald
Walsch, founded the “Global Renaissance Alliance”, now known as the “Peace
Alliance”. We’ll look at that
more later. Meanwhile, à
Oprah also continues to
endorse the “course”, with a link on her website to access each day’s
lesson.
As I was
working on this presentation on 3/3/08, I decided to access the site to see what
might be the lesson of the day. I
found this blasphemous entry, directly from the “Course In Miracles“ lesson
#63:
“How
holy are you who have the power to bring peace to every mind!
How blessed are you who can learn to recognize the means for letting this
be done through you! What purpose could you have that would bring you greater
happiness?
You are indeed the light of the world with such a function. The Son of God looks
to you for his redemption. It is yours to give him, for it belongs to you.
Accept no trivial purpose or meaningless desire in its place, or you will forget
your function and leave the Son of God in hell. This is no idle request that is
being asked of you. You are being asked to accept salvation that it may be yours
to give. Recognizing the importance of this function, we will be happy to
remember it very often today. We will begin the day by acknowledging it, and
close the day with the thought of it in our awareness. And throughout the day we
will repeat this as often as we can:

The light of
the world brings peace to every mind through my forgiveness. I am the means God
has appointed for the salvation of the world. “
So here we
are introduced to the way this course works… a lesson each day, usually with a
phrase or thought to “meditate on” and repeat throughout the day.
Helen
Schucman’s “Jesus” has twisted the word of Yahweh, making it appear that
WE are the agent of salvation (not Jesus), and that WE must help the son of
“God” out of hell !! Her
“Jesus” declares that WE are the light of the world.
Her “Jesus” asks us to repeat this declaration during the day, as one
would repeat a mantra during transcendental meditation.
But look
at how deceiving this could be! The
bible states that we are the light of the world!
Again there is the use of a familiar Christian phrase!
Let’s see what Yahweh’s word says:

John 8:12 Then Jesus again spoke to
them, saying, "I am the Light of the world;
he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of
life."
Obviously,
first and foremost, Yeshua is the light of the world. But in Matthew it says:
à
Matthew 5:14-19 "You
are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;
(15)
nor does anyone
light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light
to all who are in the house. (16)
"Let your light shine before men in such a
way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
(17)
"Do not think that I came to abolish the Law
or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. (18) "For
truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or
stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.
(19)
"Whoever then annuls one of the least of
these commandments, and teaches others to do
the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and
teaches them,
he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Yeshua is
the light of the world. We are also
called to be a light to the world, reflecting HIS light, by DECLARING and
OBEYING the Torah. Right after
Yeshua says we are the light of the world, He goes into His teaching about how
He did not come to do away with any of the Torah!
The purpose of our being the light of the world is to glorify our Father,
Yahweh, in heaven, by keeping the commandments in the Torah!
But think
about those in the new covenant church. They
have been taught that Jesus DID come to do away with the law.
When they read the verses in Matthew 5:14-16, they appear frighteningly
similar to what Helen Schucman’s “Jesus” says!
We may be able to easily see through the erroneous meanings of Helen’s
teachings, but will everyone who “goes to church”?
Oprah
Winfrey has a direct link to the “Course In Miracles” on her website.
It is easily available to millions of people world-wide.
Oprah is one of the most famous, popular, and influential women of our
time. She has been active in campaigning for Barak Obama.
And she has been actively promoting the “course“.
So think about how far-reaching this course could become.

Here are some more quotes from Helen’s “Jesus” from the “Course
In Miracles”:

Is he [Jesus] the Christ? O yes, along with you. His little life on earth
was not enough to teach the mighty lesson that he learned for all of you.
(Manual, p. 87)

The Name of Jesus Christ as such is but a symbol…. It is a symbol that
is safely used as a replacement for the many names of all the gods to which you
pray. (Manual, p. 58)
à
Do not make the pathetic error of “clinging to the old rugged cross.”
The only message of the crucifixion is that you can overcome the cross. Until
then you are free to crucify yourself as often as you choose. This is not the
Gospel I intended to offer you. (Text, p. 52)

The journey to the cross should be the last “useless journey.” …If
you can accept it as your own last useless journey, you are also free to join my
resurrection. Until you do so your life is indeed wasted. (Text, p. 52)

The Atonement is the final lesson he [man] need learn, for it teaches him
that, never having sinned, he has no need of salvation. (Text, p. 237)

“Atoning” means “undoing.” The undoing of fear is an essential
part of the Atonement value of miracles. (Text, p. 5)
Here again
we see the concept of “at-one-ment”, meaning that we must get rid of the
fear that we are separate from God to be at one with him. Of course like Neale’s “God”, Helen’s “Jesus”
never mentions that we must accept Yeshua’s atoning sacrifice to attain this
“oneness”.

Marianne
Williamson
à
Marianne Williamson, as I mentioned above, strongly supports and endorses
the Course In Miracles. à
She is an
internationally acclaimed author and lecturer, with nine books, four of which
were on the bestseller list. à
She founded Project Angel Food, a meals on wheels program.
à
She serves as the president of the Peace Alliance, a grass roots campaign
working toward establishing a US Department Of Peace within our government.

Here is an excerpt from “A Return To Love” which is the book that
Oprah endorsed on her show:

deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are

us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does
not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other
people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children
do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not
just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we
unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated
from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Again we
see the familiar Christian terms and phrases.
“You are a child of God”. “We
are all meant to shine”. “We
were born to make manifest the glory of God”.
“As we let our own light shine”.
But what light is Marianne referring to?
She does not indicate that we are to reflect His light. In fact, this excerpt suggests that power is inherent in all
of us… that we are all powerful beyond measure… that we have that power
within ourselves, not HIS power within us.
And she certainly does not indicate that we have to be born again by
accepting Yeshua to receive His power and to reflect His light.
But how deceiving to someone who does not know scripture, who has
probably heard somewhere that God’s power dwells within us!

Here are some more quotes from Marianne:
à
“We are holy beings, individual cells in the body of Christ.”
à
1Corinthians 12:12-14 For even as the
body is one and yet has many members, and
all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is
Christ. (13)
For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or
Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.
(14)
For the body is not one member, but many.
See how
deceiving this statement can be? It
sounds just like what’s in the bible. It
just fails to mention that it’s only by Yahweh’s Spirit, and our new birth
in Yeshua, that we become part of the body of Christ.

“We are who God created us to be. We are all one, we are love itself.
“Accepting the Christ” is merely a shift in self-perception.”
And here
we see the phrase “Accepting the Christ”.
But no mention is made of repentance and accepting His atoning death.
à
“The concept of a divine, or “Christ” mind, is the idea that, at
our core, we are not just identical, but actually the same being. ‘There is
only one begotten Son’ doesn’t mean that someone else was it, and we’re
not. It means we’re all it. There’s only one of us here.”
Again,
this is frighteningly similar to 1 Corinthians 12:12-14, above.
We are all part of the body of Christ.
It sounds so “good” and so in line with the bible to someone who
doesn’t catch the fact that Marianne fails to mention that we only become part
of the body of Christ when we repent and accept His blood atonement.

“But we can bypass the scenario of a nuclear Armageddon if we so
desire. Most of us have already suffered our own personal Armageddons. There’s
no need to go through the whole thing again collectively.”
Here we
see the word “Armageddon”, and the suggestion that the events in the book of
Revelation are just one possible scenario, that perhaps it won’t actually
happen.

Marianne
Williamson and The Peace Alliance
à
Oprah’s endorsement took Marianne Williamson from a relatively unknown
author to bestselling author and spiritual leader. Williamson has now brought her “new gospel” message into
the political arena. After 9/11
Williamson became one of the spiritual experts that the world called upon to
find out how we should respond to the tragic events.
Remember I
mentioned that since New Age is not an “official” religion, it will have,
actually HAS had no trouble infiltrating into government?
The Peace Alliance is one effort by these New Age leaders to do just
that, and it may soon be a reality.

Marianne Williamson and Neale Donald Walsch co- founded the Global
Renaissance Alliance, now called the Peace Alliance.
Here is

is currently a bill before the U.S. House of Representatives to establish a
United States Department of Peace. This historic measure will augment our
current problem-solving options, providing practical, nonviolent solutions to

citizen interest rise up from the American people and make itself heard in the
halls of Congress.
During the
20th Century, over 100 million people lost their lives to war -- most of whom
were non-combatants. Now, at the dawn of the 21st century, the extent and
current speed of nuclear proliferation makes the achievement of non-violent
alternatives to war the most urgent need of the human race.”

A Department of Peace will work to:

-- Provide much-needed assistance to efforts by city, county, and state
governments in coordinating existing programs; as well as develop new programs
based on best practices nationally

violence prevention and mediation to America's school children
à -- Effectively
treat and dismantle gang psychology
à -- Rehabilitate
the prison population

-- Build peace-making efforts among conflicting cultures both here and
abroad

-- Support our military with complementary approaches to peace-building.

-- Create and administer a U.S. Peace Academy, acting as a sister
organization to the U.S. Military Academy.

Doesn’t that sound wonderful? Who doesn’t want peace?
This is going to be extremely attractive to the public, as well as to
government leaders. And Marianne
seems to be performing many great works, all the while declaring “His” name
(God, Christ). But we know from
scripture that Yeshua did not come to bring peace, but a sword.

Matthew 10:34 "Do
not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring
peace, but a sword.
And when many are declaring “peace, peace” is when sudden
destruction comes.
à
1Thessalonians 5:3 While they are
saying, "Peace and safety!" then destruction will come upon them
suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape.
The age of peace will come, but only after the tribulation,
and only when Yeshua is reigning as King Of Kings and Lord Of Lords!
We cannot bring this “age of peace” to fruition by our actions.
No “Department Of Peace” is going to make it happen.
But the efforts are underway to make this department of peace a reality.
Warren Smith speaks of The Peace Alliance in his book
“Reinventing Jesus Christ”:
“The Alliance presents itself as a
“grassroots” organization of everyday folks, but it is important to remember
that the
Alliance is spearheaded by a high level group of
“new gospel” advocates who appear to be operating from a general blueprint
channeled from the spirit world years
ago by esotericist and occultist, Alice Bailey, who
is the author of many channeled works. Her blueprint is continually being
affirmed and updated by the recent “new
revelations” received by (Helen) Schucman,
(Barbara Marx) Hubbard, (Neale Donald) Walsch, (Benjamin) Creme and others.”

Marianne Williamson states:
We need to declare peace now, with as much serious effort and intention
as that with which a nation declares war.
Knowing that sudden destruction will come when people are
declaring “peace, peace”, could we now ascribe the antichrist characteristic
of waging war to Marianne Williamson? Perhaps
war is not her intent, but it may be the result.
And do you see now how easily New Age philosophy is invading our
government? This “U.S. Department
Of Peace” could easily become a reality, guided by the blasphemous teachings
of these new age leaders.
We will talk more later about the New Age infiltrating our
government. But I want to continue
talking about some more specific leaders in the New Age movement.
Barbara Marx Hubbard
à
As others that I have mentioned, Barbara Marx Hubbard claims to have
heard an inner voice, and received a vision of the future.
à
She saw earth as a living being and she was but a cell in its body.
She saw earth being lifted up in a bright light, and people being merged
with their own inner light. Powerful
currents of joyful energy rippled through humanity, and the à
earth was born again. She
continued hearing this voice, and later identified it as the à
“Christ voice” which
continued to give her more information. She
felt it her mission to continue telling the story of
humanity’s birth. à
She has spoken to
hundreds of groups and organizations, including the United Nations, telling of
her vision of the planetary birth experience.
à
Hubbard and her “Christ” have re-written the book of Revelation,
stating that the Armageddon described therein is only one possible scenario.
(Remember Marianne Williamson above said the same thing).
Hubbard’s “Christ” has told her how a united humanity can avoid it,
and that humanity will manifest a positive future when it declares one with him
and creation. à
Those who awaken to their divinity will evolve, and those who believe in
fear and separation instead of love and oneness, will not evolve.
Her “Christ” says that there will be no place in the “New
Jerusalem” for those who refuse to see themselves and others as a part of God.
So there will be a à
“selection process” that will purge the resistant
individuals through “the shock of a fire”.
The “selection process” results in the deaths of
the individuals who refuse to see themselves as part of God.
I’m sure from reading this that those professing Jesus as their Lord
and Savior, declaring that you must accept His atoning death on the cross, would
be subject to the “selection process”, as would members of other religious
groups who don‘t accept the message of “oneness“ or “immanence“.
Barbara
has been associated with Marianne Williamson, Neale Donald Walsch and other new
age leaders in the Peace Alliance.

Barbara co-founded several major organizations including the World Future
Society and the Global Association for New Thought. She appears on many
television and radio interviews and speaks internationally before audiences as
wide ranging as NASA to the Inner city of Los Angeles.
Barbara co-developed with Teresa Collins the “Gateway to Conscious
Evolution,” a first guided educational program using the Internet that covers
the whole developmental path toward the next stage of human evolution.”
Obviously Barbara is extremely intelligent, and her message
has been taken far and wide. à
Let’s look at some more of her teachings, that she claims “Christ”
dictated to her:
à
“My beloved church misunderstood me. It preached the corruptibility of
humanity when I came to demonstrate its potential for incorruptibility. It
propounded the sinfulness of humanity when I suffered to reveal your godliness
and to overcome your guilt by demonstrating that you can totally
rise above
the death of the body.”
à
“You must demonstrate the psychological state of universal
consciousness as a new norm. That is the first purpose of your writings. The
second purpose of these writings is to call for the completion of the good news
concerning the transformation of the world.”
à
“The alternative to Armageddon is open to you. This is why we are
writing this text.”
à
“The selection process will exclude all who are exclusive. The
selection process assures that only the loving will evolve to the stage of
co-creator.”
OK, that
raises a red flag. “The selection
process will exclude all who are exclusive” and “Only the loving will
evolve”. In other words, if you
profess that Yeshua is the only way of salvation, then you have just
demonstrated that you are exclusive, and subject to the selection process.
If you say that Allah is a false god, you have just demonstrated that you
are exclusive, and subject to the selection process.
If you say that homosexuality is a sin, then you are not loving, and you
are subject to the selection process. And
the selection process involving the shock of a fire that she mentioned… will
that be nuclear war? Lets see what
else she has to say…

“After the selection process, you will be born to the next stage of
evolution. There will be a New Heaven, a New Earth, a new body and a new
consciousness for all who survive.”
à
“Cynics, disbelievers, those who fear and cannot love: know that the
mercy of God almighty is with you now. The second death, for you, is a
purification, an erasing of the memory of fear, through the shock of a fire. It
will burn out the imprint upon your soul that is blocking you from seeing the
glory which shall be revealed in you.”
See the
familiar terms in these statements? “new
heaven, new earth”, “second death”, “mercy of god almighty”,
“glory”… again I fear that
those not grounded in scripture will believe that these words are from God since
they sound so familiar. And
remember, Barbara has lectured in hundreds of places, including the UN.
These beliefs are being brought to the United Nations!
So now we
are seeing another twist to new age philosophy. The other proponents we have looked at so far hinted that we
must realize that we are all joined in “oneness”, but Barbara’s
“Christ” comes out and plainly says that those who don’t see everyone as
part of God, and God in everyone and everything will be subject to the
“selection process”. Anyone who
discriminates (those who profess that the only way of salvation is by accepting
Yeshua’s atoning death??) will be eliminated by the “shock of a fire“.
This
sounds exactly like what the antichrist will be doing as he makes war with the
saints who hold to the testimony of Yeshua and keep the commandments of God.
Let’s see what the antichrist’s “selection process” will be:

Matthew 24:9-11 "Then
they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated
by all nations because of My name. (10)
"At that time many will fall away and will

We have learned that scripture teaches that the antichrist will not
regard the god of his fathers or any other god, and that he will set himself up
as god:

Dan 11:37-38 "He will show no
regard for the gods of his fathers or for the desire of women, nor will he show
regard for any other god; for he will
magnify himself above them all.

"But instead he will honor a god of fortresses, a god whom his
fathers did not know; he will honor him
with gold, silver, costly stones and treasures.
Could it
be this god of fortresses, the god his fathers did not know, is
this false “Jesus” that the new age movement is introducing?
The “god” that is the combination of all gods and religions, and that
declares that no one is a sinner, and we are all gods ourselves?
The “god” that says you must accept this, and become one with god and
fellow men in order to survive the “selection process”?

We now see
something from each of the categories of antichrist characteristics in
Barbara’s teachings. Barbara may
appear to be doing many great works, but upon analyzing what she speaks and
confesses, we can conclude that she is a bad tree bearing bad fruit, and
therefore a false prophet.
We’ve
looked at several New Age teachers that have been easy to spot as false
prophets. Next week we’ll look at
someone whose fruit is much more difficult to discern.
